Over 40 years ago in Franklin, New Jersey, Drs. Gurbir and Manmohan Saluja, affectionately known as "Mr. Dr" and "Mrs. Dr", started a medical practice from the first floor of their home. Both hailing from families of physicians in India, they brought forward a legacy of empathy, integrity, and community service.
After completing their residencies in New York, they relocated to Sussex County, aiming to foster a familial bond with patients and provide holistic care. Their practice thrived in collaboration with esteemed institutions like Newton Medical Center and St. Clare's Health, becoming a local health and wellness beacon.
Mr. Dr. served many years as a local school physician and is often fondly remembered by families for his urgent late-night care in hospital delivery rooms, Emergency Rooms, and elsewhere, ensuring the well-being of his patients round-the-clock. Mrs. Dr. was particularly dedicated to pediatric preventative care, often attending well-baby clinics throughout the county and advocating for children's well-being. Their son joined the practice in 2001, reinforcing their family's commitment to the community.
Now retired, Mr. and Mrs. Dr. remain active community members, often seen at school and sporting events supporting their five grandchildren. They cherish their memories and relationships with local families and always welcome a friendly greeting or hug. Their practice continues to adapt to healthcare changes while maintaining its core values. Their enduring legacy is a testament to their lifelong dedication to service, compassion, and community well-being.
